Cunningham
is a professor of education at Wake Forest University
in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Pat has taught first
and fourth grades and remedial reading. She has over
30 years of teaching experience and is currently engaged
in Four-Blocks staff development across the United
States. |

Dorothy
Hall
is a former curriculum coordinator, and has taught
first, second, third, and fourth grades, as well as
at the college level. Dottie is now the Director of
the Four-Blocks Center at Wake Forest University.
She has over 30 years of teaching experience and is
currently engaged in Four-Blocks staff development
across the country. |

Carolina for nine years as a language arts consultant
in classrooms K-12. Currently, she is a national and
international consultant, conducting seminars and

Williams
is a kindergarten teacher at Clemmons Elementary in
Clemmons, NC. Elaine conducts Building-Blocks
workshops when her schedule allows, and enjoys sharing
her knowledge of emergent readers. She has over 20
years of teaching experience. |

Denise
Boger was one of the original Four-Blocks
teachers at Clemmons Elementary in Clemmons, North
Carolina. She has worked with Pat Cunningham and Dorothy
Hall for more than 12 years and has done hundreds
of Four-Blocks demonstration lessons. For the past
several years, Denise has been looping from first
grade to second grade at Clemmons Elementary. |

Amanda
Arens is the director of a reading consortium
for Heart of Missouri Regional Professional Development
Center. After spending ten years in the Montgomery
County R-II School District in Montgomery County,
Missouri, she currently works as a staff developer
in the area of literacy. |

Karen
Loman divides her time between consulting
with teachers and administrators in Missouri and Kansas
and consulting with the Title I program for the Raytown
C-2 School District in Raytown, Missouri. Karen has
20 years of teaching and consulting experience that
includes teaching first, second, and third grades,
Title I Reading, curriculum development and design,
teacher training, and administration. |

Gambrell
is a professor and director of the School of Education
at Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina.
She has taught at the elementary level and has co-authored
several books on reading instruction. She is currently
engaged in staff development with teachers and administrators
across the United States. |

Debra
Renner Smith taught second grade in Michigan
for twelve years. She also worked to develop curriculum
using the Four-Blocks® Literacy Model linked to
Michigan standards. Deb is currently involved in Four-Blocks®
workshops and staff development with teachers and
administrators across the United States. |

Joyce
Kohfeldt
has classroom experience in both general education
and special education that ranges from preschool to
the secondary level, as well as administrative experienceat
the district level. She has been a presenter at national
and state educational conferences and has conducted
demonstrations and in-service training for K-12 teachers.

Timothy
Rasinski
received his doctorate in literacy education from
Ohio State University in 1985 and is currently a professor
in the Reading and Writing Center at Kent State University.
A former elementary teacher, Tim has written several
books on literacy education. He is a former editor
of The Reading Teacher and currently serves
as an editor for The Journal of Literacy Research. |

Gregg
Byers
has taught second through sixth grades over the last
25 years. He has presented numerous educational workshops,
including overviews of the Four-Blocks framework and
how to use technology to enhance instruction. Gregg
has also co-authored articles concerning the use of
CD-ROM storybooks in the classroom, as well as the
positive effects of the Four-Blocks® Literacy
Model. |
